Detailed Description of Significance:

These switches are intended to honor Ọbàtálá, and are carved from the wood of the àtòrì tree. This tree is chosen because its interior is white, and white is the color of Ọbàtálá. The spiral design around the outside must be included in the production of the sticks, or else they will not reveal the white interior, and thus will not honor Ọbàtálá. The decoration must run all the way from the top of the switches to the bottom.
