In Candomblé, Xangô is the deity of thunder and fire.  He represents male power and sexuality.  He has 3 orixás as cowives, Iansã, Oxum, and Oba. The combination of red and white or of ochre and white represents Xangô, as does the double axe. Copper is his favored metal because of its red color.
